IF3 Montreal
With the coming of fall comes, movie premiers, and of those premiers one that stands above them all is IF3. IF3 is held in Montreal, Quebec every September and covers 4 days, with almost every major film showing. This was my second year heading to Quebec for IF3 as well as hitting water ramps in Quebec City.
After traveling all day on Thursday I arrived, got swooped up at the airport by non other than Dan Brown, and headed to the hotel. Although I was stoked to be back in Montreal I was not stoked on the fact that it was pouring rain, seeing as Thursday night is the outdoor screenings. After settling in at the Hilton, we met up with Jeff Schmuck, Chunk, or fat Chunk, and headed to the screenings. It was absolutely pouring but the crowd was pumped. It was also good seeing all those faces you lose touch with over the course of the summer and spent the majority of the time talking and catching up.

Day 2 the event moved over to the Imperial theatre. And while people were headed to the theatre I ended up with Dan Brown looking for a Urgent Care.

I had been sick for a while leading up to IF3 and wanted to make sure I didnt have anything like Bronchitis, or Pneumonia, which I would end up with a week later anyhow. Regardless we ended up at some hospital in the middle of the city, and as it turns out the so called “free” health care in Canada wasnt exactly free. Just to check into the hospital to be seen, it was over 600 USD. I decided I was fine and stocked up on thera flu and ice caps from Tim Hortons to hold me over.
It was cool seeing all the different movies that night and really got me excited for winter. The Level 1 productions movie was shown that night, the crowd went nuts throughout the whole movie. Also shown that night was Tanner’s movie Like a Lion. When I first heard about this movie I wouldnt say I was skeptical, but I was a bit unsure, and even debated skipping the first half. Within the first 2 min of the movie I had found a seat. The movie ended up being one of my favorite movies of the entire 4 days. All the guys did a great job, and Tanner really left him self open. He talked about literally everything that he has faced from winning X games, dropping out of school, drug addiction, etc. If you get a chance check out Like a Lion. Following the movies was the rasta party featuring Cali P The lyrical fya!

The final day I had been looking forward too because for one it was the premier of the new Meatheads film, PBP, and the Voleurz movie Look on the Bright side. I was really stoked to have a part in the movie this year and to be in a movie that was premiering at IF3. The movie went off great and the crowd seemed to be into it. Darren Rayner and crew did a great job putting the movie together, and Im really looking forward to filming with them again this season.

Another IF3 gone and one more step closer to winter. A huge thanks to Felix and everyone at IF3 for making it such a great event every year.
